04 — Privacy Policy

Your Privacy Matters

Sozosei Studio ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (the "PDPA"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data that you provide when you interact with this Website or contact us directly.

By using this Website or submitting an enquiry, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data as described herein.

We will not collect, use or disclose your personal data for any purpose other than those described in this Policy, unless we have obtained your consent or are permitted to do so under the PDPA or any other applicable law.

05 — Data We Collect

What We Collect

We collect only the personal data that is necessary for the purposes described below. This may include:

  • Contact information — your name, email address, and any other details you provide when you submit a project enquiry or contact form.
  • Usage data — information about how you access and use the Website, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring URLs, collected via cookies and analytics tools.
  • Communications — the content of any messages you send to us, including project briefs, feedback, or general enquiries.

We use this data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide information about our services.
  • To manage our client relationships and deliver agreed services.
  • To improve and maintain the Website and understand how visitors use it.
  • To comply with our legal obligations under Singapore law.

We will notify you of the purpose for which your personal data is collected at or before the time of collection, and we will not use it for any unrelated purpose without your prior consent.

06 — Cookies

Cookies & Analytics

This Website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to enhance your browsing experience and to help us understand how visitors interact with our content. Cookies do not contain personally identifiable information on their own.

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — necessary for the Website to function correctly. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand traffic patterns and visitor behaviour in aggregate, allowing us to improve the Website.

Under the PDPA, you may withdraw consent to the use of non-essential cookies at any time by adjusting your browser settings to refuse or delete cookies. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of this Website. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences.

07 — Your Rights

Your Rights Under the PDPA

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (Singapore), you have the following rights in relation to your personal data held by us:

  • Right of Access — You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, and information about how it has been used or disclosed in the past 12 months.
  • Right of Correction — You may request that we correct any inaccuracies in your personal data. We will respond and, where applicable, forward the corrected data to relevant third parties.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent — You may withdraw consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal data at any time by notifying us in writing. We will inform you of the likely consequences of such withdrawal before it takes effect.
  • Right to Data Portability — Where applicable under the PDPA, you may request that your data be transmitted to another organisation in a commonly used machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the Contact section below. We will respond to all requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with the PDPA. We may charge a reasonable fee for access requests as permitted under the Act.

08 — Data Retention

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable Singapore law or regulation. In practice:

  • Enquiry and contact data is retained for up to 3 years following last contact, to allow us to respond to any follow-up enquiries.
  • Client project data is retained for the duration of the engagement and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and archival purposes, typically 7 years in line with Singapore commercial record-keeping guidelines.
  • Website analytics data is retained in aggregate, anonymised form and not linked to identifiable individuals.

Once personal data is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to ensure it is securely disposed of or anonymised.

09 — International Transfers

Cross-Border Data Transfers

We are based in Singapore and primarily process your personal data within Singapore. In the course of delivering services, we may engage third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting or email platforms) that process data in other jurisdictions.

Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we comply with the Transfer Limitation Obligation under the PDPA. This means we take steps to ensure that the receiving party provides a standard of data protection comparable to that required under Singapore law, including through contractual arrangements or certification mechanisms where applicable.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
